Gabriella is an IP lawyer at BRION RAFFOUL, where she assists clients on patents, trademarks, and intellectual property (IP) strategy. Her practice includes patent and trademark drafting and prosecution, IP portfolio management, and strategic planning to support the development, protection, and commercialization of IP assets.
Gabriella holds a Juris Doctor and a Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Chemical Engineering) from the University of Saskatchewan, where she also completed the Biochemical Option, specializing in biochemical processes and technologies relating to food and consumer products.
Gabriella works with startups, established companies, government entities, and research institutions, advising on intellectual property matters across the innovation lifecycle. Her experience includes drafting and prosecuting patent and trademark applications, managing IP portfolios, and preparing and negotiating IP-related agreements, including licenses and non-disclosure agreements. She also has a particular interest in IP issues relating to luxury goods, fashion, and the resale market, including brand protection and trademark strategy in these sectors.
Drawing on her entrepreneurial mindset, Gabriella takes a practical, collaborative, and business-focused approach to her practice, working closely with clients to develop intellectual property strategies aligned with their technical and commercial objectives.
In her spare time, Gabriella maintains an active artistic practice, working with a variety of media, including paints, clay, and textiles. She also dedicates time to her yoga practice, which informs her disciplined and thoughtful approach to both her professional and creative pursuits.
